Sprouts is a specialized program offered Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., designed for children who benefit from additional support in achieving developmental and educational milestones within a structured group environment.
Children participate in whole‑group instruction before transitioning into smaller learning spaces, where trained therapists provide individualized support aligned with each child’s personalized goals.
The program also offers a Gap Year Option for children who may benefit from an additional year of focused, individualized instruction before entering Kindergarten. In accordance with Tennessee education guidelines, children may begin Kindergarten at age 5 or 6. The Gap Year is designed for 5‑year‑old students who would benefit from postponing Kindergarten until age 6 to ensure they are prepared for academic and social success.
Sprouts delivers instruction in Reading, Language Arts, Writing, and Math, along with enrichment opportunities in Social Skills, Social Studies, and introductory Science.
Disclaimer: Caregivers should consult their local school district for specific rules and regulations. KCA is not responsible for decisions caregivers make regarding their child’s educational placement.
Parents are required to follow all state homeschool regulations including registering their child as a homeschool student with their local school district or an umbrella school.
Our Goal is to provide additional resources to our families that align with our values of offering high quality, intensive, early intervention services to all our students and their families.
The Mission of Sprouts is to offer a comprehensive learning environment for children on the Autism Spectrum by facilitating each individual student’s exceptional learning level and style.
The focus of Sprouts is to identify each individual student’s specific learning style and needs, and to adapt the classroom setting and teaching style to best accommodate each child. We will also coordinate with the families to understand what their short-term and long-term goals are for their child. As a team, we will help set specific academic goals for each student to make sure that we are helping the child adequately learn the skills that he or she will need to have before graduating from our program and moving on to their next adventure.
Sprouts is a privately paid tuition based program; it is not covered by insurance due to the academics being covered. Individualized tutoring sessions are completed throughout the day which may be covered by the Tennessee IEA Program.
Some families also use Katie Beckette waiver to aid in covering for Sprouts.
